Easy art project- decorating stones! You can use any flattish stones you can find and decorate them however you want 🙂
The best art supplies to use to decorate the stones are gel pens or thick paint (think poster paint or acrylic). You can also use permanent marker pens like sharpies but make sure you’re allowed to use them first!
As usual, I’m using an old plastic bag to protect the table but you can also use newspaper. There are no rules really- you can decorate them however you want! A few tips:
1. If you’re going to paint over the whole stone, painting it white first helps with making the colours extra bright.
2. If you’re impatient like me, using a hair dryer on a cold setting can help paint dry faster.
3. Take your time with it and put in as much detail as you can.
I found quite a cool design online for yin/yang cats so I’m going to try to do that. If you want to try it, you need to draw a circle first then paint it white. Let the paint dry (or use a hair dryer!) then sketch in the shapes of two intertwined cats.
Then paint one cat black and add detail! I found it really hard but really satisfying once it was done. I also used silver gel pen to add detail.
Here are a few more ideas! Have fun with it 🙂
